From fragile décor to busy shoppers, they learned how to focus on their handler, ignore distractions, and move politely through challenging public spaces. One of the most important parts of a reliable stay is teaching your dog to remain calm and confident while you move around them. Here, Rosie’s owner is walking circles around her while Rosie holds her position with focus and patience.
This exercise builds impulse control, strengthens communication, and helps dogs learn to stay put even when life is moving all around them.

Today’s challenge: Pottery Barn! Our dogs practiced loose-leash walking, impulse control, and calm behavior around delicate displays and everyday distractions. When dogs learn how to make good choices in real-world settings, life becomes easier and more enjoyable for everyone.
Coal is responding to three cues in a row—Down, Leave It, and Heel—before earning his reward. Building the ability to perform multiple behaviors in sequence helps dogs develop focus, impulse control, and reliability in everyday situations.
This was all learned in out semi-private intermediate class.
